I wouldn't call myself a knitting groupie per se, but I really like these knit toys modeled after the forest creatures created by Hayao Miyazaki. Stef has promised to make them when our son's a bit beyond the newborn infant stage.
Are there more anime-inspired knitting patterns? This hobby may have just become more interesting...

As many of you know, I'm a bit of an Elmo groupie. It's waned a bit in my post-college years, but I still have a soft spot for the fuzzy red monster. Several stuffed Elmos grace the shelves in our guest room, CinderElmo holds a treasured place in my DVD collection, and Elmo's autograph still hangs on my studio wall.
So, you can imagine how excited I was to learn that Fisher Price was releasing a new version of Tickle Me Elmo for his 10th anniversary, titled T.M.X. Elmo. Well, actually, I wasn't excited at all. I'm 28 years old. I don't need another toy that I have to find a place for. I don't have room for the toys I already have. Voltron's still in the closet somewhere.
But after seeing this video from Good Morning America, I have to say I'm intrigued. This Elmo does far more than giggle and vibrate. He throws a bona fide fit.
