Now here's another thing you can do with a puppy that you can't do with a human child: put her in a crate for a few hours so you can go see a movie.

We escaped the furball last night so we could go see Cars. Loved. It. It didn't unseat my all-time favorite of Monsters, Inc., but it's a darn good movie. I was a little wary of the whole talking cars theme, but I shouldn't have worried. It's smart, it's funny, and it has a soul. It certainly lives up to its Pixar bretheren.

What can I say about Pixar that hasn't already been said before? All I can think of is the word class. Pixar makes classy films. All it takes is a few minutes of viewing, and you know you're watching a quality production. Simply from the two-minute preview of Ratatoulle that screened before the movie, I know that it's going to kick ass. The opposite can be said for many of the more recent animated flicks. You can tell from the preview that it's just not going to be worth it.

Cars, however, is most definately worth it. Highly recommended.

Well, if you're going to see Cars, I think the expectation is that you would take a human child with you, so you wouldn't have to do the whole (legally actionable) crate thing.

You can leave a human child in a crate, you just can't write about it on your blog afterwards.

(just kidding)

I'm confused. I was under the impression that you got a small dog so that it would be more portable. With that in mind, why not take Lucy with you to see the movie?

Puggles like popcorn too, y'know.

I was sold on Cars the moment I found out that it isn't a CG-animated feature about a group of talking animals going on a fish-out-of-water adventure. I think there are 7 of those coming out this year.

I am, however, anticipating Monster House. Its trailer reveals quite a bit of potential.

Haven't seen Cars yet - I bailed on it last week to see Seven Swords, instead. This means that I'll probably not ever see Cars. Sad, but what can you do?

Jason - You could go see Cars.

I know it's a crazy idea, but what can you do?

I could, but that doesn't seem likely. My movie-watching time is largely taken up by other films.

Also, the World Cup.

Just saw Cars today. It is always refreshing to view something that the entire production team actually spent time on in order to ensure it would be a fantastic product...unlike X-Men...and A Prairie Home Companion...and a lot of other movies. :)

Kick-butt movie. Eric sums it up better, though. Classy.
